Let’s Marry the Hero – Arc 5 (4/5)

(O3O)/ – Here is Ch-5.4!!!

(OwO) – Hello guys, I took some time to edit some chapters of both MnS and LMtH, and I found an error on Ch-3.8 of LMtH.

(-.-) – Basically, the way I worded it, made it look like Avant had used the Sex Change spell once in the past. But that’s wrong and I fixed it. Sorry, my mistake.

(O-O) – I sometimes get high on coffee… it happens.

(OwO) – Anyway, enjoy the chapter∼

Despite the lack of time, they managed to finish the preparations for the marriage in time, all thanks to Thomas. He was indeed a competent Prime Minister.

Moreover, Firia even received a letter from the Prime Minister of the Athena Kingdom, congratulating her. Apparently, he and her brothers were trying to architect a coup d’etat with the help of other nobles, since the King didn’t want a diplomatic relationship with the Dunal Kingdom.

And naturally, her family managed to arrive in time for the ceremony… along with many nobles of both Kingdoms.

Firia was sitting on a chair, on the third floor of the – now repaired – Tower of flames, and from there, she could see many nobles entering the church. But… one person was standing out more than the others–

“N-no way… is that person… really him…?”

–And that person was her new brother-in-law, Luke.

After being punished (tortured) and made to swear that he’d never again lay a finger on Firia, Luke was allowed (forced) to attend the ceremony. But that wasn’t what made him stand out. Luke’s gait was unstable, almost like he was drunk, and he was pale and thin, like he hadn’t eaten anything in months.

(J-just… what kind of punishment did he receive…?)

When Firia asked what kind of punishment Luke received, Avant didn’t say anything, he just showed her a refreshing smile, which was a bit eerie, to say the least.

But what about Thomas?

Well… let’s just say that his truly happy smile, as he told everyone, “One of my problems was finally dealt with,” was even more eerie than Avant.

Firia even heard that her brothers arrived earlier than planed, just to punish Luke. They were as merciless with their enemies as she remembered.

(I’m not sympathizing with Luke, but… he’s on the verge of death, isn’t he…? How pitiful…) – Thought Firia, as she shed a single tear of pity for her mortal enemy.

While she was gazing at the church, Firia heard a rustling sound outside of the room, so she stood up and went to the door.

“Rebeca? Is everything okay? I’m opening the do–”

“–You can’t come outside right now, Firia-sama! It’s dangerous!” – Said Rebeca, in a rushed tone.

“There’s just me and you, plus the knights, here in this tower, right? So why can’t I go outside?”

“I-I’m really sorry, Firia-sama, but you can’t open the door right now!”

“That’s right, Firia-sama! You can’t come outside, the guards are dealing with a trespasser right now!” – Said Thomas, in a rushed tone as well.

(Oh, so Thomas-sensei was here as well… but a trespasser? In this heavily guarded tower?)

The Tower of Flames was packed with 50+ knights on every floor, and Firia’s room was sealed with a special spell that prevented anyone from entering, except authorized personnel–

“W-we’ll do something about that trespasser, Firia-sama. S-so please, just wait patiently inside the room, okay?” – Said Rebeca, in an insecure tone.

–So there was no way that that person would be able to reach Firia… well, at least not alive.

“Okay then, I’ll wait.”

The room that Firia was in right now was really simple. There was a couch on the left side of the room and a table with three chairs located at the far end of the room, near the windows. However, while Firia was heading back to her seat, she couldn’t help but stop in front of a huge mirror located at the right side of the room.

The woman reflected on the mirror was wearing a pure white, wedding dress, that emphasized her cleavage, and was decorated with white gems. Her shiny, waist-length, silver hair, was set on a loose straight style. And her makeup was perfect.

In other words, she looked just like an angel.

Yes, an Angel specially prepared for Avant, the Demon King. (Tl/n: Specially Prepared here, means Food… quite literally. Firia will be his main dish tonight.)

(\\\Fufu, I’m sure his lewd beast mode will awaken when he see me dressed like like this\\\) – Thought Firia, as she imagined Avant’s reaction.

That’s why Firia wasn’t afraid of the trespasser. She was his bride, so she knew that Avant would arrive in time to save her–

“No way, he’s already on the third floor!? Kuh…! Everyone, get into formation! We can’t let His Majesty enter this room!” – Yelled Thomas.

–Or so she thought.

“Hee∼, so you want to stop me from seeing my bride and future wife, Thomas?”

“Of course! It would be an understatement to say that Firia-sama is as beautiful as an angel today! So, can you really restrain yourself in front of such a beautiful, and cute Firia, Your Majesty!?”

“…………….

“That’s what I thought–”

(\\\\\\\\\A-Avan you beast! At times like these you have to deny it, or say something!\\\\\\\\\)

“–Look, I don’t care what you’re going to do with Firia-sama, Your Majesty… but I can’t let you rip that dress off of her! I need that dress in one piece for the ceremony!”

(T-the dress is more important, you say!? Thomas-sensei, you demon! Are you really more worried about the dress!?)

“Then I just have to undress her, right?” – Said Avant, with a smug smile on his face, as if he had already won the discussion.

(\\\\\\\\\Y-you can’t undress me right now, Avan! It’s almost time for the ceremony! What are we going to do if you d-destroy the dress by mistake!?\\\\\\\\\) – Thought Firia, as she covered her face with both hands.

“B-but Your Majesty, there’s also the issue about her makeup….” – Said Rebeca, in a small, almost shy, voice.

(\\\\\\\\\T-that’s right! It took a lot of time to finish my makeup, so w-we can’t do that right now, Avan!\\\\\\\\\)

“You’re really stubborn! Guards, restrain His Majesty!” – Said Thomas, in an impatient tone.

“Hoo∼, so you want to restrain me…?”

Firia sensed Avant’s magic power rising, he was probably going to incapacitate everyone on the other side of the door, even Rebeca–

(Why are you going berserk right now, of all times, Avan!?)

–So she rushed towards the door, took a deep breath, and yelled–

“–Stop that right now, Avan!!!”

That was his first time hearing Firia’s angry tone, so Avant stopped what he was about to do and looked at the door.

“……Firia…?”

After hearing his reply, Firia took another deep breath, and started talking with her normal tone.

“I want to see you too, Avan… but, more than anything, I want the ceremony to be perfect… I want to be able to say that I’m your wife–”

On the other side of the door, the knights and Thomas were starting a commotion, “His Majesty’s magic power is dispersing!?”, or “He obeyed her!?”, but Firia wasn’t paying attention to that, she was saying a lot of embarrassing things in front of a lot of people, after all, so none of that entered her ears.

“\\\\\\–So, hmm, that… I-I want you to wait a little bit more, okay–?\\\\\\”

“………….

“\\\\\\\\\–B-because, you know, after the ceremony…… y-you can do whatever you want with me!\\\\\\\\\”

In the Athena Kingdom, it’s normal for husband and wife to sleep in different rooms, but in the Dunal Kingdom that custom was a bit different. From now on, Firia and Avant would spend a lot of time together every night, doing this and that everyday.

“You’re right Firia, I’m sorry… it seems I lost my reasoning for a moment there. I’m looking forward to seeing you at the church.”

“\\\\\\…Avan…\\\\\\”

The two of them weren’t even face to face, there was a door separating them, but even so, the knights, Thomas and Rebeca, could feel the pink atmosphere surrounding the place, it was like they had swallowed a spoonful of sugar.

“Don’t you dare run away from me, Hero.” – Said Avant, in a playful tone.

“\\\Fufu, you say that, but you’re not even going to me let try, right Demon King?\\\”

Although there was a mini incident right before the ceremony even started, they managed to finish their preparations for the ceremony.

Firia’s father cried when he met his son–or rather, his daughter, after such a long time. He was truly happy to be the one guiding her to the altar.

When Firia entered the church, she was taken aback by the sheer amount of people that were staring at her. But when she saw Avant, who was wearing a white suit, on the other end of the aisle, Firia calmed down–or rather, his gentle smile calmed her down.

Everyone in the church, even their relatives who were sitting in the front roll, were mesmerized by the beauty of the new Queen of the Dunal Kingdom and her angel-like smile. But Firia didn’t notice their stares, her eyes were glued on Avant.

When Firia reached the end of the aisle, she released her father’s arm and grabbed Avant’s extended hand.

Looking at his beautiful bride from up-close, Avant’s gentle smile became even more gentle, which made Firia blush, since it was rare for him to show her a genuine smile like the one he was showing her right now.

“…*Whisper*…You blew away my expectations, Firia… you’re the most beautiful woman in the whole world….

“\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”

But what about Luke–?

“…*Whisper*…You stole my beloved fairy… unforgivable… unforgivable, unforgivable, unforgivable, unforgivable, unforgivable, unforgivable, unforgivable, unforgivable-”

–Well, he was crying while glaring at Avant, but the person in question didn’t even notice his brother’s hateful gaze. Firia was more important to him, after all.

On this day, Firia and Avant officially said their vows in front of God, their parents and relatives, and the most important nobles of both Kingdoms.

Although the wedding wasn’t open to the public, it was a custom for the King and the Queen to show their faces to the population, who were waiting for them at the back of the church, so Firia and Avant walked up the stairs to the second floor of the church and opened the door to the balcony.

At first, the citizens didn’t understand why their King wanted to marry a woman from another Kingdom that didn’t even have a diplomatic relationship with their Kingdom, but as soon as they saw Firia standing by his side, all their fears were blown away.

A Goddess descended to the human realm.” – That’s what everyone thought when they saw Firia. Her silver hair, her blue eyes and her delicate features, robbed the hearts of the entire population; men and women alike.

They had finally taken the first step towards the end of that pointless cold war between the two Kingdoms. This was the beginning of happier times for both countries.
