[……Huh?] – Said Leena, in a tone of confusion and disbelief. Her brown eyes staring deeply into Leo’s purple eyes.

[You don’t have to be that surprised. I’m just investing in your business, that’s all.]

One gold coin was a lot of money, and Leo was using “his” own money to help Leena achieve her objective.

[Are you crazy!? You’re giving me a gold coin, you know!? A! GOLD! COIN!]

[Hey, that’s rude! That’s MY money and I’m investing it on what I want! Besides… you need the money, right?]

Leena thought that Leo was just a money hungry beast, but in reality, he didn’t mind spending money to earn more money… even more so if that money would help other people.

[Fufufu, and even if I don’t get my body back, I can live just fine with the interest of the money I invested on MY* business.] – Said Leo, with a mischievous grin.

(*Tl/n: The literal translation for that is: “My body’s business.” Meaning that, when they go back to their bodies, he’ll be the owner of that business)

Now Leena could finally understand why his close friends could tell right away that she wasn’t the real Leo. He was definitively the worst kind of money hungry beast… but he was a kind one that would help other people when they needed–

(Maybe I was wrong about him… there’s no way the kids would be so attached to Leo if he was just a greedy bastard…)

–And when she realized that, Leena felt a subtle ache in her heart. She was jealous of how much everyone trusted him, jealous of how much everyone loved him… jealous of his way of life… to the point were she even wanted to become him. Or maybe that feeling was something else… who knows.

[…*Whisper*…That’s unfair… I want to go to the spirit festival with everyone too…]

[…Huh?]

[I want to go to the spirit festival with everyone too! As Leo, not Leena–!]

But regardless of what that feeling truly was, Leena didn’t want to give up on this new life full of adventures… at least not yet.

[–If you want money, I can give you as many gold coins as you want! But I don’t want to return to that boring life!]

Now Leena had friends, she had an evil granny (Hanna) that was always nagging in her ear and a place she could call home. And for the first time, she wasn’t all alone in a room filled with books, for the first time, she was living her life… but at what price? By stealing the body of someone completely unrelated to her family’s circumstances?

Leena was acting like a spoiled kid, she herself knew that—

[Well… it’s true that we can wait until the spirit festival is over…]

[Then—!]

[—But what about your parents? Everyone knows that the spirit festival is all about spending time with your loved ones and praying to the spirits of light. I don’t have parents… but you have, so you should spend the festival with them. I bet they want to spend the festival with you.] – Said Leo, with a sad smile.

—But Leo had a point. Greedy as he may be, Leo was still a orphan. True, he had many friends… a lot of them actually… but no “real” family. Maybe, like her, Leo was jealous of the things that she had. But instead of acting like a spoiled kid, he was doing his best to ease her troubles… like any kind big brother would.

[W-well, I know you have a lot of things to do, so we can change again after the spirit festi–]

“–No… you can have your body back by the start of the spirit festival….” – Said Leena, with a sad smile, as she turned around to leave the place.

Leo was a bit confused. He didn’t know why Leena was making that sad expression all of a sudden, but he still wanted to ask her something.

[Hey, Leena, can’t you at least turn off that Polite Speech spell? That thing is a pain to deal with!]

But Leena just looked over her shoulder, before saying–

“–You can deal with that for two more weeks…*Whisper*…right, Leo Onii-chan?”
