“Talk about what…?”

Kai was taken aback by his master’s sudden serious face.

“I wanted, to tell you, about my past….”

“…Before Leonora-sama came to the academy…?”

“…Un, that’s right….”

Kai was holding his breath, since he had never seen that kind of serious expression his master was making right now.

Finally, Leonora was trying to tell someone about what happened in the past, by her own volition.

Kai was feeling a warm sensation in his chest.

He was the first person, that she was ever going to tell this to… and yet….

And, unable to to keep his emotions in check, Kai grabbed Leo’s hands.

“Leonora-sama…!”

“Oh, umm, yes….”

“I consider myself your friend! You can tell anything to me!”

Apparently, Kai was grabbing Leo’s hands a bit too tightly, so Leo tried to loosen his grip a bit, but Kai noticed it and released his hands.

“Ah! U-umm, uh, s-sorry!”

“It’s, alright….”

Although his master said so, she is supposed to be scared of men.

“Leonora-sama, please, don’t think of me as a man, I’m nothing but your servant.”

‘Don’t think of me as a man….‘ – At this moment, Kai felt heart broken by his own words.

It’s wrong for Kai to see his own master “That” way, so he was trying to suppress it by any means necessary………… even by hurting himself while doing it.

But those words only worked as a deception. Leonora’s amethyst eyes probably had already seen the truth about Kai’s feelings a long time ago.

“You… probably can’t believe me, but my loyalty will always be yours, Leonora-sama.”

“And believe me when I say this… those were only the remnants of my first love.” (Tl/n: He’s talking about holding her hands earlier)

Kai tried to avoid talking about it, but if he wanted to build a strong relationship with Leonora… his master… he at least needed to tell her the truth.

Leo was in shock, he didn’t know what to say.

Leo couldn’t believe, that one of his little brothers had fallen victim of Leena’s beauty.

That’s what Leo wanted to know.

But he at least had an answer.

It was probably the fault of the magic Leena had cast on him, the one were he had to speak using polite language in a cute and feminine way.

(But… the first person to ever confess his love to me, was actually a man… I think that as a man, I lost something really precious right now…)

Why would someone even fall in love with him anyway….

The only way for Leo to fall in love with another man, was for him to be made out of gold, or to be covered in gold………… no no no, that’s a bit extreme even for Leo!

(Not good… to think I would fall in love with a golden statue, even if it were to be shaped as a man!)

Leo was overheating for a bit there.

Now Leo knew Kai’s anguish over his first love. After all, Leo’s golden statue was just in his imagination. (Tl/n: ……(O-O)……Really? A statue?)

But this secret……… Leo would take it to his grave with him.

“I’m sorry, Leonora-sama… it must be shocking for you… but that’s the truth.”

Leo didn’t know where to go from here.

But Kai could see that his master was on the verge of tears while saying that. She missed her mother so much, to the point were nothing else would matter, if she could feel her mother’s warmth one more time.

(She never forgot about Claudia-sama. And even if she inherited the same beauty, the same intelligence and the kind personality of her mother, she can never have what she truly wants… it’s like she was forsaken by the spirits…)

But above all else, Kai just wanted to be able to comfort his master. He couldn’t, because he was male.

It was evening, the day after Kai and Leo had “That” conversation.

Leonora’s grandparents were waiting anxiously for the daily letter.

A servant then knocked on the door before entering the room, he was holding a five page letter.

And after delivering the letter, the servant exited the room.

“–………!!!!!!”

Lord Harkenberg, the man feared on the battlefield because of his scary face, was now staring at the letter his servant had brought him, with bloodshot eyes.

Emilia von Harkenberg, who is always lady-like, was the first to stand up and go to her husband’s side.

Next, the head maid and the head butler entered the room, without knocking on the door and went to their usual positions behind Lord Harkenberg.

The location?

Lord Harkenberg’s private room. A place no servant would dare to enter without knocking first……… except the head butler and his wife, the head maid.

And as Lord Harkenberg was reading the letter out loud, he suddenly froze before reading the next sentence.

“You a**hole! Whys did you stop reading!?”

Shouted Emilia, shaking her husband by the shoulder.

“What is wrong!? Is my angel alright!?”

Shouted the head butler. But the angel that he was speaking off… wasn’t Kai, of course.

However, they both didn’t notice Lord Harkenberg’s shocked expression.

“E-Emilia… t-this.”

He pointed to the letter; his finger was shaking.

“What is it? Why are you shaking… like…… this….”

Emilia was shaking.

It was rare to see both Lord Harkenberg and his wife shaking like this.

The head butler and the head maid didn’t know why both of them were like this.

So Kai’s father, the Head Butler Fabian, grabbed the letter and examined it… just to end up on the same state ten seconds later.

But at least he understood why they were shaking.

The contents of the letter stated that, “Leonora-sama wants to be the host for her first tea party, but she doesn’t know the formalities for such an occasion. She then asks if Lady Emilia von Harkenberg would be able to teach her about such things.”

After reading the letter, the Head Maid started shaking too.

“I’m happy to be alive….”

Said Fabian, shedding a tear.

“What a rare occasion, I agree with you….”

Said Lord Harkenberg, crying like a fountain.

Emilia too, was shedding a tear because of the happy occasion.

And after closing her eyes for a while, her husband said something a Marquis would never say.

“Emilia, where are those invitations that Leonora received from those foreign kings and princes?” (Tl/n: Invitations for a ball and the like)

“They are stored in the archives… why?”

“Yosh, let’s burn those and throw them away.”

These two were well known figures of the noble society all over the world, so they could burn those invitations without any consequences—

“Leonora is our precious granddaughter. An event like this needs to be big.” – Emilia.

“It’s Leonora-sama’s debut party, after all.” – Head Maid.

“We need to find the best teacher for her too.” – Emilia.

“I agree.” – Head Maid.

“And if any bug tries to approach her in the middle of the ball—” – Fabian

“”—We castrate the f***er.”” – Lord Harkenberg and Emilia.

—However, none of them expected to hear the always polite Lady Emilia saying those kinds things.

“””Huh…?”””

Three people were shivering.

Two of them from fear… and one from excitement.

Emilia was making an evil smile.

“No one will approach my cute Leonora.”

It wasn’t a well mannered Lady standing there… there was a demon in her place.

The three felt all of their hairs standing up.

“B-but you see, Emilia-sama. When my angel–”

“–MY angel. There’s a fine line between a delusion and reality, remember that.”

It was a clean cut. No blood flowed out, but the cut was deep. So deep, that it actually reached Fabian’s soul.

“B-but–”

“Shut up, Fabian.”

Said the head maid in a cold tone. However, she was like this all the time with him, so there was no problem.

But, as Fabian received the cold shoulder of Emilia and his wife, something snapped inside him and he finally said his ultimate desire.

“I want to escort my angel until the altar on the day of her marriage, because I never got the chance to do it with Claudia-sama–!”

It was just his selfishness showing, as usual.

“But she’s not even related by blood with you….”

It was a straight punch. Strong enough to bring him to his knees.

(I know that… I know… but…)

Fabian always treated Claudia as his own little sister. But when she disappeared, his heart crumbled to pieces, after all, it was his dream to escort her to the altar.

So Lord Harkenberg, who knew of his dream, asked his wife: “Can’t you be a bit more understanding to him?”

But Emilia had her own reasons as well. She wasn’t just ignoring all the marriage letters that Leonora received, she was also storing them in the archives, since she only wanted the best for her granddaughter.

However, the question was, who would marry Leonora?

Emilia didn’t have anyone in mind who was worthy enough of her granddaughter.

She was making the same sadistic smile of when she was “playing” with her husband.

“Since we’re declining all of the invitations so far, it would be wise to invite them to her social debut. But if it’s a social debut…… it should be a ball, right?”

“Hoooh∼, I’m already liking it… do continue Teresa.”

Lord Harkenberg had spent his youth in the most terrifying battlefields. But the smile his wife was making right now… was the only thing that could make him feel real fear.

“But not any ball… we should invite every king and prince from the surrounding countries.”

“Just the royalty… I see.”

Two demons plotting on how to destroy the world… well, not really… but it was close to that.

And speaking of royalty–

“–We have an Emperor and an Empress really close by, right?”

Emilia looked straight into Teresa’s eyes and laughed. Not because it was a dumb plan, but because she understood what Teresa meant by that.

“The Emperor and Empress will be invited to her debut as well. But since Leonora-sama asked for a small party, the ones present will be of the finest quality… just royalty. And if we’re lucky, she’ll have a good fiance by the end of the day.”

Royalty… in other words, the probability of Albert and Leonora meeting during the ball was really high.

“!!!!!!!!!”

Emilia opened her eyes wide.

“Emilia-sama, the only person worth enough… is that prince!”

He is the student council president of the Weiz Magic Academy and the Crown Prince.

Every girl wanted a piece of him. His magical aptitude was high and he had a good personality.

He was the best candidate for Leonora.

“Now, we just need to think of a way for them to be together during the ball.”

Emilia and Teresa.

At this time, Leo didn’t even know that his “normal” tea party, had become the most extravagant ball that the world had ever seen.
